WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
I offer a free introductory session so we can explore what has brought you to counselling. This will also allow you to see how you may feel about working with me. If you then feel that you'd like to continue working with me, ongoing sessions will be charged at £60.00 (adults & teens) or £100.00 (couples) per 50 minute session. I can offer some reduced spaces to students or those out of work. I welcome open discussions about session fees and will consider your individual circumstances if I am able to.
HOW DO I PAY?
Payments can be made using bank transfer into my business bank account, details of which I will pass on to you before your first paid session. I can also accept payments via PayPal if needed. I do kindly ask that your payments are made at least 24 hours in advance of your regular sessions. And I would be very grateful if you would make all future payments using this method & into that account please.

HOW FREQUENTLY WILL WE MEET?
Ideally, to gain the most from therapy it is recommended that we meet once a week, preferrably on the same day and at the same time, for consistency & continuity.
However, I do realise though that for some people that might not always be possible due to work or other life commitments. If that is the case, then we can of course make other arrangements accordingly.
ARE SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?
Everything you tell me will be held in strictest confidence. The only exception to this would be if you were to tell me something that I believed could mean imminent harm to either yourself or someone else. In these rare instances, I may need to involve others. But I will discuss this with you first. I will also never record your sessions, & any notes I take will be kept securely on a locked and encrypted computer (See GDPR section below).
DO YOU FOLLOW GDPR GUIDELINES?
Yes. I collect, store and process certain information about you, including your name, date of birth, contact details, payments made for sessions, personal information – including health and medical issues. This is necessary to enable me to run my therapy practice and to provide you with a safe and ethical service. This is done upon the lawful basis of 'legitimate Interests' for the purposes of health and social care.
All information that I collect and store about you is password protected. I may keep this information for up to 7 years following the date of our last session, as per my insurer’s Terms and Conditions, after which it will be securely deleted. You have the right to view this information, which will be provided within one month of request, and to ask for changes to be made. I may use this information to track the progress of our work together or in discussion with my professional supervisor for reflection and guidance in a way that respects and protects your anonymity.
WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE A SESSION?
Please just let me know as soon as you can and I will try if at all possible to reschedule your session. Usually a text or Whatsapp message is best, or an email.
AND WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
If we are working together over a period of time I ask that you let me know about any upcoming dates when you will not be able to make your usual session. If you do need to reschedule, I will do my best to find an alternative slot for you, but I will charge for the session if I am unable to or if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice. I appreciate this can be frustrating for some, but it's important to understand that your space is specifically reserved for you and it is not usually possible to fill it.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
I offer face to face therapy sessions from my home in the Bromley area of South East London. I also offer virtual video or telephone sessions in the UK & internationally.

WHAT ONLINE PLATFORMS DO YOU USE?
I use all the major online platforms (Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp), but find Zoom the easiest and most reliable. I can also offer sessions by phone if you prefer not to be seen on screen or for those who are unable to find privacy at home, to enable them to walk and talk.
HOW CAN I GET THE MOST OUT OF THERAPY?
Whilst of course it is not possible to guarantee success in therapy, research has proven its effectiveness given the right conditions. There are several things you can do to maximise the potential for positive change. Practically, consistency is key. Try not cancel too often, otherwise momentum can be lost in our work together. Make time for your sessions so that you have a little time beforehand as well as afterwards, if possible, to digest and transition back into your day.
I also encourage you to bring any difficulties you might feel about the therapy, or about me, to the session. For example, you might feel therapy isn't working for you, but feel nervous about telling me? Or I might have said something or suggested something that might have caused upset or misunderstanding. These discussions are an important part of therapy and give an opportunity to have difficult conversations in a safe and supported space, which can be useful for other conflicts in your life. Ultimately I'd say the capacity to develop a trusting relationship is key to successful change.
